Some of the combinations here are trance like, they shouldn’t make any sense but they absolutely do in the collision and the context. What an amazing, powerful and fresh poem. Thanks for sharing it.
Apologies, I should probably think about adding a content warning. I’m really glad you liked the piece, though. Most of my work lives in the darker poetry corners, if you ever feel like reading more. I guess that’s me issuing warning x
Thank you so much, M. I decided to post this piece because it was driving me up the wall. I’d amended it far too many times. I figured it was time to let it go. Cut my hair just a little 😊 x
There isn’t much difference. It was more of a trim, really. I’m thinking of giving my page a bit of a refresh, new photo included. I just haven’t got around to it yet. Soon, I hope 😊 x
i’ve been wondering how much space there is between sardines in a can. dead, sealed, vacuum-packed. even the resistance got canned..left to marinate in suppression. the seal holds /what’s inside stays precisely as it was/ never decaying. raw an sealed.M reduced to almost..a wet hush i swim between sardines far away from inland
There is no space for anything but emotional marinade, hush locked. Only far from shore can you calculate the exact distance between the fish. Returning may prove difficult x
returning may prove difficult maybe i think even impossible. at least not the same way. to return is to believe the same place still exists and i believe it doesn’t (entropy). you back and either the landscape changed or you have. then we create this strong illusion around longing that we only want how it was. but put your ear between the fishes and you’ll hear fishes saying “you were with us. you left the place you were coming from.” you back carrying the weight of promises and currents, everything that was never spoken and maybe should have been. you back and you understand that maybe better is to stay alive in the deep silence of the ocean than becoming decaying fish sealed inside a coffin of tin…don’t pay attention much i just write the stream without thought and that could make total nonsense
Agree with entropy and dismiss the illusion. Only once you’ve swum far enough and survived do you finally understand that neither the weight nor the current can take you down. Perhaps the ocean is lonely, but it rewards you with silence. Far from nonsense.
Ugh! You deserve the whole world. I genuinely believe your talent is unmatched. Love this and you so much! ❤️
So much love and praise. Spoiling me @Tianna Diamond ❤️
Silence is densely packed inside a person reduced to something consumable; what cannot be said is stored in the body.
Precisely, thank you @Gan x
If I ascend too quickly, I fear I’ll get the bends… but it’s all too suffocating under there 🖤✨
It’s all about the pace. Oxygen isn’t that important. Thank you @Luna💫 🖤

You're welcome my dear. Kindly connect back if you love my work
Really moved by this one, I cannot explain the sadness I have when I read this poem. It feels claustrophobic.
The tin/sardine metaphor for feeling packed in and pressed down, “hear.my.quiet” ….
Thank you for sharing something this raw. But I wasn’t ready for this.
I hope you are doing well.

You’re most welcome.
I feel for you, I’ve had those scenes before.
I hear you.
Cool, may I please see the result? 😊 x

Fair enough.
I look forward to it 🙂 x
Almost preconscious, prelanguage. The thoughts of a sardine. Impressive.
Thank you so much @Ray Sweatman x
